Core Facility for Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics

 

Overview of Services

The Core Facility for Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics is an infrastructure facility of the Center for Molecular Biology of Heidelberg University (ZMBH). We support the research scientists of the FoF1 / Heidelberg and Mannheim Life Sciences campus with high-performance mass spectrometry aimed at protein analytics and proteomics.

Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Molecular weight determination of intact proteins
  • Protein identification of gel-separated proteins
  • Identification of interaction partners from Co-IP experiments
  • Analysis of proximity labeling (BioID) experiments
  • Proteome analysis
  • Analysis of post-translational modifications (e.g. phosphorylation, succinylation)
  • Identification of cross-linked peptides of purified proteins and protein complexes
  • Cell-wide or organelle-wide interactome analysis (co-fractionation MS)
